Hi Groupmates!

Nag-email na me kay Prof Baguilat last week about dun sa topics natin. Pinost ko na dito ang mga reply nya. Kelangan pa ba ng karagdagang explanation sa kanya para ma-convince siya sa mining topic? Pwede rin yung iba, kelangan lang ata ng focus yung approach natin. If not, tuloy tayo dun sa inapprove nya. eto pa lang ba ang options natin? nways, hope mabasa nyo to. Just want you to know na kahit alin dun ang mapili, ok lang sakin. nways, if ever gusto nyo magchat tayong lahat sa group or kung ano pang means ng communication, just text me.

as of now, eto pa lang ang updates. i'll post more of prof's emails pag may bago.
cge, Merry Merry Christmas!!

Prof Baguilat's 3rd email "Another Thing"

Hi:

Group 6 (Gerald, Hans, Jelein, Julie Ann, Wynona) are working on a topic closely related to your third proposed tope: political debts and their effect on crucial judicial decisions.

Thanks again.

Prof Baguilat's 2nd email

Hi Grace:

The other reply I sent you contained Neil's email message about the original topic. Please refer to that.

On the first alternative topic, I suggest you look into it more so you know what exactly you are looking for.

On the second topic, please confirm my understanding that your focus will be on public lawyers. Though they are part of the executive branch, these lawyers are also officers of the court. So, this topic can be explored in this class. Please note, though, that Group 3 (Adrian, Jovit, Jenna, Paul, and Can) will deal with salary of judges and corruption.

The third topic is something you can also consider. Aside from the materials, I have difficulty coming up with a suitable methodology to draw up a reasonable conclusion. How will you treat data, if any, to show that there indeed was influence? Will you interview judges to confirm? Do you think they will even give you an audience? Many of these dealings are normally done behind closed doors.

Thank you.

Prof Baguilat's email (1)

Hi:

The mining issue is a good topic by itself. However, the group has not explained to me how a research into this issue will deepen the class's understanding of the Philippine Judiciary. Your group's initial explanation simply showed me a tangental connection to the course. Of course, I am open to reconsidering it if you can show otherwise.

Thanks!
